           A charity for Bereaved Children

There is only one main charity in the UK which supports about 500 children per annum!

A family of website businesses are being launched to fund and promote this charity. It is the “Mates and Dates” family in memory of David Van der Velde who we tragically lost ten years ago.

The first 2 websites to launch will be www.cruisematesanddates.com and www.travelmoney4u.com.

The second phase of sites includes www.holidaymatesanddates.com and www.travelmatesanddates.com. Individuals will join (membership is currently free) and other travel businesses will be affiliates or have trade memberships.

I am very involved in www.chickenshed.co.uk and I am envisaging a headquarters similar to this.

There would be bedrooms, therapy rooms, theatre space etc.

The charity would run along similar lines to that of "Winstons Wish" which currently only operates in a small area.

Funding would also be raised to help children who react badly to bereavement, including anti- social behaviour, to enable them to be sent to outside agencies/camps/facilities if the foundation did not have the resources in the United Kingdom.

The charity would undertake field work in schools and with a network of trained counsellors UK wide would partner up with all NHS trusts to offer specialist counselling for bereavement. There would be theatre activities and therapy offered, together with overnight stays/ weekends . A key difference would be our resources of mentors for the bereaved children to aid the recovery of bereaved communities, and reduce the occurrence of potential crime, drug use, truanting, teenage pregnancy and all anti social behaviours.

The Angel Wings Entrepreneurship Group is also planned as a non-profit, student-run organization dedicated to encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit amongst bereaved youth and becoming a starting point and catalyst for youth interested in entrepreneurship and leadership.
